Education

Sampson Hall. Named in honor of Oscar R. Sampson, an educator and former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, this building housed the college's administration and the library. The building was torn down and the current library in named the Sampson-Livermore Library, in honor of Sampson and Professor Mary Livermore.

Rowland School . The high school was located in town of Rowland on the border of North and South Carolina and cost $14,000 at the time of construction. In 1905 the school was under the direction of Principal William C. Herbert and the school committee was made up of Graham McKinnon, P.H. Barnes and John A. McCormic.

Presbyterian Junior College . In 1927 a presentation was made by a group interested in seeing a junior college for boys to the Fayetteville Presbytery asking them to establish such a school. The Presbytery decided to acquire the former Carolina College property for $35,000, which was the outstanding debt on the facility. The new college opened for its first session on September 11, 1929 . In 1961 it merged with Flora McDonald College to form St. Andrews Presbyterian College and moved to Laurinburg. The old campus was used for the next ten years for the Carolina Military Academy until the main building burned in 1973.
